Co-Director
Having worked with Liliana for almost a year now, I can confidently say that she would be a powerful asset to any team in need of a strong and well-organized leader. As Liliana’s Co-Director for our short film “Wide Awake” at California State University Long Beach from August to December of 2020, we managed a team of seven artists together. I then happily took the opportunity to work with Lily again at CSULB from January to May of 2021, where she was Producer on Ana Cirimele’s animation “Parks”. Liliana’s dedication to the projects as well as her strong leadership and communication skills made these thoroughly positive experiences. Without a doubt, I would give a glowing recommendation to Ms. Brown.
During our time together on “Wide Awake”, Lily provided support at every stage of the process. She came prepared to every meeting and created a schedule for the entire semester. The organization of files, as well as communication with the team all, came from Lily. I learned firsthand how valuable her signature color-coded spread-sheets are when working with a team of seven busy artists. As Co-Directors, I felt like Lily and I worked well together because she is both flexible and firm. This makes her a great creative partner and a capable leader. She also showed exceptional understanding when she planned extra time for breaks to reduce burnout over a three-month project, and that sort of realistic planning made “Wide Awake” possible.
When it came time to present our work, Liliana’s well-honed public speaking skills shone. She put together a presentation of the culmination of all our collective hours together, and budgeted time for each member to share their experience. With her leading the presentation, our group was able to present a professional, thorough, and engaging discussion of our work.
As Producer of “Parks”, Liliana worked with the Director Ana Ciremele to organize a team of eight. Working under Lily’s leadership I always knew what was expected of me and by when. Liliana’s Live Homework documents and bi-weekly check-in meetings kept me organized and accountable. Her feedback is always constructive, and I respect the way she can grab the reins of even the rowdiest meeting to keep us on track while still being able to enjoy each other and get our work done.
Getting to know Lily over the past year has been a true pleasure, and I enthusiastically endorse her for this position. I know she will find success wherever she goes because she is a driven individual whose kindness and positivity make group work a joy. I can’t wait to see what she does next, and any team would be lucky to have her.

Liliana's ability to foster and organize a supportive, efficient team made Team 4 a joy to be on. Her personality and push to keep us on task made this creative process a smooth journey! It's clear she did a fantastic job, considering how early we were able to get the majority of our work done instead of having to sprint at the last minute. She truly took the pressure off of all of us on the organizational side so we could focus more on our individual work.
I really appreciated the constant reminders, they kept us on track! Liliana was a constant source of encouragement and organization. Her positivity made her an excellent producer. I trusted that she would keep track of everything and help our team meet deadlines. She is such a humble person. I know that Liliana is highly creative and can do more than just produce, but she never showed off or demanded extra lip service.

Supervisor for Communication Interns
I have had the privilege of working with Lily Brown, as she got placed in our Communications Team at Rolling Hills Covenant Church, and I must say that she has been an amazing intern!
She has taken in so much information over a summer internship program & I have had the pleasure of teaching her a few key elements from the Adobe Suite, which she has quickly been able to pick up. Without hesitation, Lily always responded with such a willingness to learn
something new every time she came in. Her heart to serve and help, even in the small tasks, is something I have deeply appreciated from her. She has worked on updating various projects on Illustrator to creating beautiful backdrops for a special event. She is adaptable, positive, and has amazed me in all that she has been able to do over the course of 3 months.
Lily came into our internship ready to work & learn, and I know that whatever she takes on she will quickly learn & soar in excelling in all her work. She was always such a joy to be around & even with our team being busy, I am truly amazed at how much she took on to try new things & see her growth. I am so excited for Lily! I can’t wait to see how she will use her creativeness and skills in her future. I not only count her skill as a valuable asset, but her kindness & positivity is worth commending. I am very confident that she will always bring forth her very best & be a blessing to all who get to work with her!

Professor
I’ve gotten to know Liliana over the course of this semester. She has demonstrated in multiple ways that she is a quality student. First, she has come to my office hours on a weekly basis showing her commitment to the class and her journey ahead. Second, she has proved herself to be in the top 1 % of my class with attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and an ability to grasp concepts quickly. She is the first to raise her hand in class and the first to present her speeches. Finally, during our discussion, she has shared her desires and experiences about travelling. As a sojourner myself, I understand the complexities that come with travelling abroad. She has the attitude and personality to thrive anywhere in the world.
Liliana has demonstrated the key qualities of a leader. She sets a goal, researches what it takes to achieve that goal, creates a schedule to reach that goal, and executes. She has shown multiple times in and outside of my class that she is a high-quality student.

Volunteer supervisor
Liliana has volunteered in my 1st grade Spanish dual immersion classroom at Willard Elementary, Long Beach. I have had the pleasure to know Liliana for 6 months since she started working in my classroom [Fall 2017].
In every position Liliana held she exhibited and empowering character to take leadership. In the time Liliana has volunteered in my classroom she has shown her natural ability to lead others. During class instruction she participates and encourages students to do the same. The students and I are very fortunate to have a Liliana in a classroom. I find Liliana very admirable because she volunteered in the Spanish dual immersion classroom. Although Liliana is not fluent Spanish she shows perseverance and learning to language and help the students to read and write in her second language. She does an extraordinary job working with the students during small group instruction and she make sure they stay on task. Her perseverance and learning Spanish shows me that she has the capacity to succeed in all academic areas. She has demonstrated excellence in all that she puts her mind to whether it's grading tests or helping students in the classroom. Liliana's determination and work ethic leads me to believe that she will surpass every obstacle that stands across your path. I have no doubt that she will be successful in college and beyond.
